Ralebuso Paul Bokaba

Chairman & Acting CEO

BSc Eng (Mineral Processing & Materials), Wits

Ralebuso is qualified Metallurgist and has business interests in engineering, chemical and telecommunications services sectors. Prior to that he worked at Chemserve, Namakwa Sands and Anglogold as a senior engineer over a period more than fifteen years.

He owns Rupu Group Companies, a consulting and investment vehicle. He also looks after all mining and metallurgical projects at African Mineral Professionals Limited, which has interest in PGMS, Manganese projects.

Ralebuso Bokaba is motivated by working with a team of individuals who have common vision and technical skills to answer not only today’s challenges but long term social and economic evils. as well. He has been fortunate to develop well- rounded skills set spanning from starts ups, turnarounds, and conventional businesses.

Menzi Gqweta

Executive Director

BSc. (Hons), Pr.Sci.Nat.,MGSSA

Menzi Gqweta is a South African qualified geologist that is registered with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions and has over 29 years of work experience. He began his working career in 1991 at New Denmark Colliery, one of Amcoal’s (the Anglo-American Coal Division) collieries where he progressed from being an assistant geologist to a mine geologist. Toward the end of 1995, he resigned from New Denmark Colliery and went on to establish his consulting firm, Khulani GeoEnviro Consultants (Pty) Ltd focusing on the fields of geology, geohydrology, and environmental impact studies.

Menzi was able to run and manage his consultancy for 22 years and has, in the process mentored and trained several geologists who have progressed their careers to senior levels in the industry. Menzi has been a shareholder of Atlatsa Holdings (Pty) Ltd (formerly Pelawan Resources) since its formation in 2002. He has participated in some of the due diligence work undertaken during the reverse takeover of Atlatsa Holdings by then Anooraq Resources Corporation (now Atlatsa Resources). Menzi has since July 2020. been appointed a director to the boards of Atlatsa Holdings and its subsidiary companies, Atlatsa Resources (Pty) Ltd, Plateau Resources (Pty) Ltd and Bokoni Platinum Mine (Pty)Ltd.

Joel Kesler

Executive Director


Joel Kesler is a South African qualified lawyer with 18 years of international experience in mining finance, mergers and acquisitions, business and corporate development. He was a founding member of Atlatsa Holdings in 2002 and was instrumental in effecting the reverse takeover of Atlatsa (previously Anooraq Resources Corporation) in 2004. From 2005 to 2014 Joel has served as Atlatsa’s Chief Commercial Officer, primarily responsible for its corporate and business development, strategy, corporate finance and corporate communications.

Tumelo Motsisi



Tumelo Motsisi is a prominent South African businessperson with experience in the South African financial services, mining and energy sectors. In 1998, Tumelo established Kopano Ke Matla Investment Company, the investment arm of South Africa’s largest trade union federation, the Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu), and was subsequently appointed Chief Executive Officer of the company. Tumelo also served as Executive Chairperson of Prosperity Holdings, a financial services company established between Kopano Ke Matla, NBC Financial Services and Peregrine Holdings. Tumelo has been a director of Atlatsa since September 2004 and is not a director of any other public companies.

Alice Phatudi


Her main activities are Business Development, Social and Enterprise Development and Strategy. In 2001, the Department of Minerals and Energy announced a programme to empower women to be accommodated as shareholders in mining concessions and Phatudi saw the opportunity to assist women to take up the challenge and apply for prospecting rights as well. In 2007 she was elected National Chairperson of the SA Women in Mining Association (Sawima) and acted in that capacity for three years.

Lassie Mahlangu


BProc, LLB

Lassie holds a BProc degree and LLB degree. He also holds a Mediation and Arbitration certificate with AFSA as well as a diploma in Leadership, Financial Management and Communication under the auspices of USSALEP. He was admitted as an attorney in 1983 and practised in one of the first “black” firms of its size in Pretoria at that time. Lassie has 38 years of relevant (post articles) experience.

Lassie was the chairperson of the Law Students’ Council in 1996 while he was at university. Lassie is a founding member of the Democratic Lawyers Congress in Pretoria, which in turn founded the current National Association of Democratic Lawyers (NADEL). He was a member of a technical team established by Nelson Mandela to set up government and administration structures in Limpopo in 1994. Lassie became the first chairperson of the Northern Province Casino and Gambling Board and founding member of the Southern African Gaming Regulators Association. He was Special Advisor to the first Premier of the Government of Limpopo Province, Ngoako Ramatlhodi and thereafter the second Premier, Sello Moloto. He was a member of a Legal Team consisting of Special Advisors of all Provinces to advise the Constitutional Assembly of Parliament in the drafting of the Interim Constitution of the Republic of South Africa and thereafter adopted as a final Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 2006. Lassie became a member of the Judicial Service Commission representing the premiers of Limpopo in the appointment of Judges. He was a founder member and director of Mahlangu Attorneys that merged with MacRobert Incorporated in 2015. He was a Co-Founder and Director of the current Atlatsa Holdings (Pty) Ltd and still serves as a Director.

Shireen Stow

Chief Financial Officer

Bcom (Hons)(Accounting)

Shireen Stow is a qualified South African Chartered Accountant with more than 15 years’ experience working in various financial and auditing roles in both South Africa and the United States of America. Shireen holds a Bcom (Hons)(Accounting) degree from the University of Pretoria and qualified as a Chartered Accountant after completing her articles with KPMG. In the USA Shireen worked at PwC in the assurance group with a wide range of companies from large listed entities to smaller start-ups in a number of industries including hospitality, biotech and technology. Subsequent to leaving PwC Shireen has been working in various financial positions including recently as the Interim Chief Financial Officer for Atlatsa Resources. Shireen has been responsible for the day to day management of the finance department including implementation of the transaction related activities.
